About Katie

I joined the CRG as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2023. I am part of the R&D team at Swarm Oncology, a new affiliated company developing a novel cell therapy for a range of major cancers. The R&D group is partly based within University of Glasgow where I enjoy working collaboratively with the rest of the Swarm Oncology team and the CRG to drive the development and translation of this therapy. Previously I worked as a post doc with Prof Julia Edgar and completed my PhD with Prof Christopher Linington, both at the University of Glasgow, where my research included several projects on neuro-immune interactions in the context of multiple sclerosis. I also have experience in drug development and testing from 4 years working in a commercial research environment (Sartorius Stedim BioOutsource). In addition to this, I have worked in various public engagement roles and have continued to do PE on a voluntary basis in my subsequent roles. I enjoy bringing my diverse research and skills background to my role within the CRG.
